Here's one of West Virginia last year. New River Gorge Bridge. T'was pretty cool. At one point was the world's longest single-span arch bridge. Yeah, I'm a dork for engineering stuff.

There is a lot about Chicago to dislike but the downtown district has a lot to offer and is incredibly safe (IMO). One more than occasion I have been down there walking and always felt safe. Sure there are some homeless that want to talk to you and sometimes decide to walk with you but never more than a couple of blocks as there are cops every few blocks and they will cruise by and talk to the homeless if he appears to be bothering anyone.
