A small bolt and a nylock in the slot to limit travel.
Saw it done this way 25 yrs. ago by an old man that built mags for drag motors. He built HEIs for chevys too.
MAGSRUS was his company name.

Smart idea. I'm planning on welding the slot to make it shorter, then grinding it back to the length I need.

Since that explosion in Nashville yesterday, our landline has been spotty. It's down now, and has been since last night. Its beginning to be obvious that the target of the blast was the switching station the RV was parked in front of.

Heard that story on the news tonight,maybe 1 person killed if I heard right

I kind of regret not getting a 501p instead of the 490. Even after the muffler mod and a better chain, I still think the 501p would’ve been the better saw

I am not an echo guy myself, but perhaps you should consider getting yourself a 70cc class saw to pair up with that 490. Just in the past couple years I have settled on pro 50cc and 70cc to do the bulk of my cutting work. Sure beats the heck out of the Husky 455 boat anchor I started out with.
