BTW....your saw is done. Had a Meteor piston....and wrist pin. I shortened an OEM pin to fit the Meteor. They are quite a lot lighter.

I'll have you a tracking number Tuesday when I print labels.
Interesting that Mr. Snelling still went with a Meteor on that after tracking down all those NOS items for it. Thanks for going the extra mile, Randy! Should run smoother now it seems. I’m very much looking forward to running this thing!

The jug was pretty used too.....but still in good condition. Very nice saw overall.

I'm gonna lay it out fellas.

In February PA Dan sent Steven a picture of a fully assembled and supposedly running 346XP that appeared to be in excellent condition. After a bit of back and forth, Dan priced it, and Steven paid him. Not long afterward, Dan realized that the saw was disassembled, not an assembled unit as he had presented it. Steven told him to send it, and all the parts to me. This was in February. In May....the saw did arrive. It was missing the wrist pin bearing, the bolts that hold the jug, the fuel lines from the primer bulb to carb, the bolts that hold the muffler brace, and the clutch cover.

Dan told us both that he was sending a clutch cover to Glock37 for powder, and when it was done, he would assemble it, and send it along with anything that was missing. Mike never got a clutch cover from Dan. Finally I got sorta upset with Dan and told him that he needed to make this right. To his credit, he got with Duke at Traverse Creek, and had him ship me some parts. I have everything to assemble the saw now.

When I said that Dan wasn't going to man up.....what I meant was that he wasn't going to post in this thread and own this mess. He's had a week....and I've asked him to post here several times. Now he has begun ignoring my text messages.

I suppose he went fishing today.

The worst part.....Woodpecker and I had a disagreement about this whole debacle, and he is no longer part of the moderation team. And....he probably doesn't consider me a friend any longer.

So....who actually gets the crappy end of the stick here. Brad and I seem to be the two with *s-word on our hands because of Dan's inability to do what he says he will do.
You can leave my name out of this little fairy tale thanks! This will be my final post here.

Well said Brad. This post has been nothing but a huge disappointment for ope. There is no reason this had to happen to Steven. There is also no reason this had to come out like it did. I would not want to be in Randy’s shoes but at the end of the day the way this was handled by moderation is a complete joke and makes ope look horrible. I think we need to have a full moderation change over at ope.

Please explain how it could have been handled better.

I talked to Dan.....I asked him repeatedly to post and clear this up. What exactly should I have done?

Brad blamed Steven for this....when all he did was buy a saw....and run out of patience.

If you fellas think I need to give up this gig.....I'd be happy to. I've been doing it all these years simply because I told Bruce I would.

I’m not going to start any discussion on how this could have been handled better. You as a moderator did what you felt was right. Ope has lost many members as of late and something needs to change.

That's my fault? 99% of what I do is accept new members. Brad has been doing the bulk of the moderation for quite some time.
Didn’t say it’s your fault? No. You’re taking it personally and that is your problem. I simply stated my opinion as a member of ope.

I think you do good in your role.

Pretty simple solution would have been the person following through with what they agreed to. Anything that has come about is ultimately a result of that person's own actions.

Having had a very similar experience a few years back with the same member (~9 months for him to fulfill his end, with my money in limbo and parts already sent), it seems to be a recurrence if not a theme.

That being said, I also appreciate what that member stepped up and did with the auction a year or two ago. Sometimes good folks make mistakes, but the timeframes are cause for pause.

You said I needed to step down. If nothing is my fault.....then why would you say that. Please.....help me understand.

Like fines through a Stihl air filter, so are the days of OPE’s lives…
