You are correct. And I would have no problem giving a buyer their money back. But again, I’m not the seller in question here. I get where you’re coming from. I’m 99% on your side. Was just saying there are times *s-word happens. But not nearly of this magnitude to result in 8 months and the fishy story of pulling the saw apart etc. Please don’t think I believe what this guy did was normal or ok. I would’ve given his money back a long time ago.

What the biggest problem with chainsaws is that it makes grown men 13 year old girls for whatever reason.

I hope whoever and whatever it is just cleans itself up.

I'm dying of curiosity who this individual is.

At the same time, at least four people have posted in this thread with whom I would do business without any stress at all.

At the end of the day, nothing is more valuable than a good reputation.

I'll say this fellas. No one is getting banned. The person in question has been in touch with me, and has accepted responsibility for this mess. I think he will be posting here when he is able to explain.
That would be the coolest possible thing. Everybody screws up now and then. The greatness is in the recovery.

Looks like he just plain ain't gonna man up here. To say I'm extremely disappointed is a huge understatement.
This is probably the best place on the internet to buy or sell saws. The high standards sellers are held to is the biggest reason. As a buyer, I've never gotten burned here. I haven't even gotten annoyed.

If i wanted to sell a saw (stranger things have happened) I'd do it here, because we have a culture of trust and accountability that I'm pretty comfortable with. Buyer and seller both know what the standards are.

You make a valid point. I've bought and sold several saws on here over the last few years and they've all been smooth transactions. However, threads like this make guys like me less likely to dig up the ol' Maxwell House can.

when you gotta get out the door, but mama just made a fresh pot of tomato okra soup from the garden… You do what you gotta do…. And take a pot to goView attachment 469537
Yum!

The gophers destroyed my okra this year. It's a bumper crop year for peppers, despite the damage.

I'm gonna lay it out fellas.

In February PA Dan sent Steven a picture of a fully assembled and supposedly running 346XP that appeared to be in excellent condition. After a bit of back and forth, Dan priced it, and Steven paid him. Not long afterward, Dan realized that the saw was disassembled, not an assembled unit as he had presented it. Steven told him to send it, and all the parts to me. This was in February. In May....the saw did arrive. It was missing the wrist pin bearing, the bolts that hold the jug, the fuel lines from the primer bulb to carb, the bolts that hold the muffler brace, and the clutch cover.

Dan told us both that he was sending a clutch cover to Glock37 for powder, and when it was done, he would assemble it, and send it along with anything that was missing. Mike never got a clutch cover from Dan. Finally I got sorta upset with Dan and told him that he needed to make this right. To his credit, he got with Duke at Traverse Creek, and had him ship me some parts. I have everything to assemble the saw now.

When I said that Dan wasn't going to man up.....what I meant was that he wasn't going to post in this thread and own this mess. He's had a week....and I've asked him to post here several times. Now he has begun ignoring my text messages.

I suppose he went fishing today.

The worst part.....Woodpecker and I had a disagreement about this whole debacle, and he is no longer part of the moderation team. And....he probably doesn't consider me a friend any longer.

So....who actually gets the crappy end of the stick here. Brad and I seem to be the two with *s-word on our hands because of Dan's inability to do what he says he will do.

Sorry for the mess Randy. I couldn’t reveal who it was bc I said I wouldn’t even though several messaged me and asked if I would disclose in confidence. I could have edited that out of my post, but I would have known I said it and it would have bothered me. A man ain’t worth a lick if his word ain’t good. Thank you for helping see this thru. And thank you for this post disclosing the guilty party. I appreciate you and value our friendship.

I didn’t even know it was missing all those parts… I just thought it was missing clutch cover. That’s all that he ever disclosed to me.

Man, this is all just a bunch of suck. I got pretty sad reading that.
BTW....your saw is done. Had a Meteor piston....and wrist pin. I shortened an OEM pin to fit the Meteor. They are quite a lot lighter.

I'll have you a tracking number Tuesday when I print labels.
