Us chrome was the only one as of 3 weeks ago. I called several. Millennium and powerseal do open and Powerseal was the cheapest at $184.

I know whenever I send a cylinder to Powerseal, they want the piston kit as well, or they order one for me. I think they like to measure the kit for clearance. This is for bikes of course, not saws, but I dont see why that would make a difference. Not everyone sells A, B, C, D etc pistons of slightly different tolerances/sizes.

This is a very good point. I have had the same thing when I was rebuilding my current 2000 Polaris XCR-800. Millenium asked for the pistons so they could get the tolerances correct. It is so exact now they'll plate the jugs for the pistons.
Wiseco uses forged and machined slugs so they expand at a different rate than the cast pistons. Usually platers will add a little clearance for them.
Now we should discuss the merits of frosting your slugs! If you have a jug freshly plated, why slow down, get that slug frosted too! :)

I wish I were rebuilding something, I'd get some coatings just to get them. :)

Some manufacturers sell pistons with hard anodizing or a silicon/teflon type coating to prolong their life. Pro-X and Namura come to mind first...I have run some of the Namura pistons in a few YZ250s with great success, and they are MUCH cheaper than the Wiseco stuff. Wiseco is usually my last choice- I much prefer cast pistons over forged units.

I hear you. I know it is off-topic, but cast do not expand at the same rate as Wiseco forged/machined. Every year out here I hear people *b-wordin' and moanin' about how they four-cornered their snogo motor using Wiseco. All they had to do was warm the machine first. Usually drunk, they start the sled and rip WOT.

Wiseco are lighter though, make your sled sound like an F1 machine.

If Wiseco started producing them for saws, I'd by their pistons in a heartbeat.
