The entire exchange rate debacle kills many deals. I just had a guy email me saying he would pay $500AUS for a saw and that was shipped. I pointed out that $500AUS was $328US. I went on to point out the shipping was $280.50US.

Good to know. I’m debating between getting a 261 again, or trying the 241 for some occasional branch processing when I do tree removals. If they’re available, price will play a large factor in my decision.
Ported Echo ftw and for the same cost…..

16" bar?

I loved my first one and probably had 800-1000 hours runtime on it, and haven't had the chance to run the XS one I have. The lightweight is key some days.
Yep 16” bar. This one is of the XS variety… I highly recommend you give yours a run.

+1 for this if you can still find a 4910 for cheap. I ended up with a Redmax version of the 543xp…not great stock, but hopefully will be great after some work.

Interesting. I had read accounts of people liking the red over the orange. Some say that even though the platform of the saw is largely the same, Husqvarna did change some things on the 543xp from the Redmax.

One of these days soon I will. Once I get caught up on other stuff, I have polewood to gather off the hillside and cut for '25/26 firewood. It'll be perfect for 1-10" partially seasoned madrone to break it in.

I've had from a 15-20" on the first 543. The 20" was strictly for a few-week job on super steep, sandstone inclines cutting resprouts, switched to the 16 for trees, not brush (sudden-oak-death, and ladder fuels in/under leave-trees.) The 15" bar was awkward for cutting sprouts (OR Versa-cut), bit the 16" shone.

I didn’t realize there were any differences between the two.

For sure. Hot little saws and super reliable. Too bad the 543’s were so much $. I was trying to scoop up some red versions when they were blowing them out but seems they’re not around anymore. Unless someone knows something I don’t?
I see a couple on feebay right now.

Yeah I’ve seen a few on there as well usually in the $500 range. But RCPW was blowing them out for $350 shipped with 16” b&c but they’ve been out of them for a while now. And I’m pretty sure they’re discontinued.
Yes they are disco’d. I’m seeing them listed online at a dealer near me for $399. Not sure if they actually have any though. My guess is there’s still a fair amount kicking around out there in some out of the way dealers, but get them while you can if you want one.
