are the plastics razor sharp too?
better go buy a weedeater/poulan at walmart.

Actually 2 are Stihl FR350's and one straight shaft Maruyama .
So far no cuts from sharp plastic :ambulance:

These new models are also diagnosticable now. They collect operating data (like hours, number of starts), which can be accsessed at the workshop per pc and diagnostic tool. It could be easier for Stihl this way to say this is not covered under warranty when the hours are to high (for example adjusting the valves or other things) when there is a damage.

You are absolutely right on this info. Scrench points to the diagnostic port near the carb.

Funny, I wish the Stihl trimmers were 2stroke as well. I have a 110rx that Im not in love with, a redmax 2100 that I like a lot, and believe it or NOT...a true 4stroke Makita trimmer that I LOVE...most of the time I can idle around the yard and get most of the light trimming done...AT IDLE...when I need it to spool up it does...not like the redmax....but it does...very weird to put straight gas in a trimmer but the fumes are easier to take and not having a hand on the throttle at all times is nice...

my 110rx is the last trimmer I reach for....

I'd really like to try one of those Makita/Dolmar trimmers. If you'd like the best 2 stroke Stihl the FS94R is the one. I have one and it's a great trimmer.

Pretty sure my local home cheapo rents them(makita) out as rental Fleet. Never seen one before. Guy gave me it said it was a 4 stroke and didn't run. I said "sure it is... ;) "....Googled it and 4stroke it was.

it has plenty of power to cut down what i want and doesn't kill me after using it a few hrs per day.

They feature larger fuel tanks, updated triggers and rubber handles along with updated filters, one touch stopping and simplified starting my stihl ambassador told me there is less vibrations with these models. The plastic designs are a little different and the model numbers have been changed you can get them in loop or bike handle form.

My shindaiwa 242 seems pretty good so far, just a peaky engine got to keep the revs up and it'll cut pretty much anything.

My work uses echo 266s's and they have to be one of the toughest pieces of equipment I have ever seen. Abused, used for edging to whacking heavy brush, thrown around, and ran by new guys that rev the piss out of them with 1 inch of string left for hours. And there all still working great, I replaced the fuel lines in a few of them along with spark plugs, cleaned spark arrestors and there all set. There is one Fs90 there and it seems to have faired as well.
