Welp, got a call from the police the other day, son found out and called the cops. I'm not in trouble, just gotta return it, I said I could this upcoming Saturday. Old man said he'd pay more for the time I had into dealing it. It's also a 50 minute drive each way, heavy, I don't like long drives without reward, and I don't want to be wasting gas money. I am still gonna try to fire it up this week cuz I was so excited to hear it run and fresh gas and charging the battery won't hurt nothing. Grandma says I should ask if there's a way a tow company can come get it, cuz I'm part victim here.

id say grandma has some wisdom, at this point if I was in your shoes, I would push it out next to the road and tell them to make arrangements to get it returned that dont involve you doing it, dont mess with it anymore, you could get get blamed for any and every defect, your obviously dealing with some people that are either stupid or vindictive, either way watch your asz.

I remember running into this sort of stuff back in the 1970's un-findable papers.
Alcoholics with a notary stamp, somehow... Title loans on cars that they were trying to hide
The bike is my aunt's name cuase i cant afford insurance in my own name any more.
Girlfriend signed the loan for her baby-daddy and now they're mad at each other.
I met a guy that had a fantastic looking RD400 sitting inside of his house, "for sale".
bit high priced but it was an excellent bike.
I asked him for nearly two years to just simply get the paperwork right, before I gave up on him.

Yesterday the old man and the son came to pick it up. The old man gave me $50 for my troubles. The son was disappointed I removed the dollar tree garden lights that he had duk taped to the bike...

That's actually a really good idea. I attach a magnetic work light to the hood of my riding mower when I mow at night. Its way better than the factory headlights which are about as bright as a Bic lighter and usually don't work anyway.

The garden lights were extremely very very dim cheap ones, didn't affect the era after 6 inches ahead

You were in a tough no-win situation and I am glad it ended peacefully. This will serve as a learning experience which is a good thing. Do not let this discourage future deals but please do keep it in mind. I (as well as many others), have bought stuff with little to no documentation. Sometimes it works out to your advantage and sometimes it bites you in the wallet.
