Geez, they killed the MS 261, I didn't think they had the balls to take away the 261 brand after all these years, from fat to slim, now dead.

But it's well done to keep the weight down but at the same time 53cc and 3.3kw.

0.3 kw doesn't seem to be much of an increase, but maybe it was confusing to people to have the MS 271 and 291 less powerful as the 261 and there by putting it at MS 300, the unknowing will be able to guess that the 300 is the next logical step up or at least more powerful than the 271 and the 291.

Even though I'm a Husqvarna man, I just have to congratulate Stihl on a very exciting chainsaw in the 50cc class.

It's a shame they called it the 300, if you search on Google you'll mostly get the MSA 300 which is battery junk.

The only downside I can see is the vibration level, I've seen slightly different numbers than posted here, 4.2 on both handles is a lot for my elbows.

I also congratulate Stihl on coming up with a sensible model number system. 300, 400, 500i. So simple.

It's unfortunate Stihl didn't expand their FI line with the 300C.

3,5 and 4,2 are the numbers published by Stihl
