Yes that is the stuff. This stuff by any chance?
Nice.
Does it require a narrower bar?
Interesting thanks. So they don't even currently make a narrow kerf bar for it?I was told that it would be fine on regular kerf bars, however if they think they can make a buck off of selling customers a new bar I wouldn't be surprised.
Thanks for sharing ...we may have them here in Manitoba already too.
Looking at your pictures I earlier guessed right those drive links are .050" thickness top to bottom.
Would it be possible to get a link to a Canadian dealer for this NK 0.325 chain. The Stihl number 3690 002 00xx does not give any hits here in Europa. We have had it here on the East Coast of Canada for at least a month. We were told the old RS was going to be discontinued.
That would be awesome. My US dealer has no info on it either. I would be down to order some from Canada.Would it be possible to get a link to a Canadian dealer for this NK 0.325 chain. The Stihl number 3690 002 00xx does not give any hits here in Europa.
I calipered the 16" .325 Stihl E bar on my MS261C with the chain pulled to the side (only E bar I own at the moment) and roughly got around .160"
I recall measuring a 20" ES light bar and it was .180"
Why are you confused?OK I'm officially confused. I just calipered 4 bars (4 measurements each and took the median)
1. 16" 063 .325 Stihl E bar (0.178")
2. 18" 063 .325 Stihl E bar (0.188")
3. 20" 063 3/8 Stihl Light bar (0.184")
4. 25" 063 3/8 Stihl Light bar (0.184")
1 is the narrowest. 2 is the widest. 3&4 are tied for the middle. But none are as narrow as Willard mentioned. WTF?
You'll see all my bars are 063. Does this new narrow kerf stuff even come in 063? If not I'd need new bars anyway.
Maybe because you didn't read the info in this thread and now know .063 bars are thicker.
1. That the 16" and 18" were different widthsWhy are you confused?
Narrow Kerf bars are thinner by design.Bottom pic is a .050 13" .325 Oregon/Husqvarna NK bar at .150".
Yes in the case of the Oregon NK bar it's designed to match the 95VPX's thin side links.Narrow Kerf bars are thinner by design.

From these pictures Lit1023 posted above it looks very aggressive, looks like a high tooth chisel chain with a oversized gullet by design of the depth gauges. This new chain has to compete with Oregon EXL and Husqvarna C series chains. Must be more aggressive.
Yes exactly, must be some sort of trade off there between Husqvarna and Stihl seeing Husqvarna adapted the Stihl Oil O Matic drive link design onto their C chains.Thank you sir. Looks very, very similar to the new Husqvarna chain...
