I am going to go ahead and mark this sold, there is no more published special pricing on the Arctic saws.

I am always willing to get or price anything you want but it will be subject to checking the price from the dealer and the current exchange rate.

Thanks for all that have looked and purchased.

I would say that with all the time you invested in these endeavors qualify you as a stand up feller, listed under the sub category: Good Dude!
Hooked quite a few brothers up, and those artic saws are the greatest, I imagine, especially in the colder states or especially if you have experience with Reynaud's ,would be invaluable in situations like those.

I've got a few nice saws, but the 261 that Gary hooked me up with has been my go to this week. I must have put 6 tanks through it in the last 4 days. If I can keep my fingers and toes warm I can pretty much cut at any temp down to -5F. The heated handles don't help my toes, but once the saw is warmed up my fingers are just fine. It's especially great if you've got to stop and swap chains or do something else that requires bare hands. Starting the task with warm fingers and having a place to get them warm again makes a world of difference.

Thanks again, Gary!

There ya go, an unsolicited customer testimonial , proving that everything I said is in fact the gospel...

Ryan you should accessorise your heated handle kit by adding Makitas battery powered jacket and the old school battery powered 9v socks to extend your cutting season significantly...

Unfortunately my main concern is that it could get hot to soon! Call me when they release the new Air Conditioned Handles, I'll take the first one...

Actually I do have a heated dewalt coat. They were on sale for $99 with a battery and a charger. They want like $60 for just a battery, and I use that line of tools, so having extra batteries and chargers around is handy. It's pretty silly, and to be honest, the coat is pretty chinsy compared to a Carhartt, but for sitting around a fire in the winter it is nice to keep your back warm. :)

I had considered the Makita jacket for my wife who is constantly cold, so she can get out of her below 0° fashion line, but then I remembered how rough she is on batteries, and flushed that idea. I would try to teach her again (or show her the instructions) but she would just tell me that I always want it done my way, it has to be my way. So I gave up on any batteries or battery powered object's for her...

I wasn't aware that other manufacturers were making these things. Doe's your Dewalt use the same batts as your tools? That would be cool since I have Dewalt as the largest portion of my cordless stuff...

Yep, pretty much all of them make them. The dewalt uses the new 12 or 20 volt batteries (works with either). I'm sure you can use an adapter to use the old 18v stuff, but it would get pretty bulky.

Sorry to hear about your wife and batteries. Most women I know have a pretty special relationship with AAs... :)

Bulk Amazon rechargeable AA batteries, and try to incorporate them into as many everyday item's as possible, ie flashlights and the like. Since as you alluded to earlier, women are generally more conscious of the impending doom, were the stockpiles of AA's to become depleted..

so if you go with an arctic 362 you get a metal handle and not a composite? Is that true on all Stihl Arctic models? 261 etc?

Never thought about it but it looks that way...
