Just wondering if anyone here has any time/experience with the updated ms261. I see they have updated the chain cover, and upped the HP rating.

Thanks, Loren

I actually called my dealer about these new typeII ms261. He told me he's never heard of it. He did however tell me he has a new product meeting coming up in March. He SPECULATED that he might hear about the new ms261 then and maybe hear something about a possible ms441 replacement.

I see them in the new catalog and on the site, hopefully we see them soon. It would be nice to see how it runs compared to the 2253/550xp. I would think it would handle a 20"/.325 bar nicely for firewood duty.

Yeah, cause we ain't bright enough to know if it's a POS or not.

I was not implying that, just a #s thing. Pretty sure there are more people & sales down here, but likely you guys will have more need to give it a good tryout.

I like all the mystique that surrounds the release of a new pro saw (talking about home/ranch saws is not acceptable) by the major two, we all say how good its going to be and how its going to change the game of logging. The privileged members who post pics of them and over exaggerate how unreal they are (cause they just dropped $1k) & egg on other cad infected sufferers into buying them. Then the dust settles, the 'new saw' bugs get discovered and the price of the previous model saws as we scurry to get the older model as if its going to fall off the face of the earth. This happened with the 562/357, standard carb ms261/ms261cm, ms441/ms440, 550/346, ms660/661cm, 576/372, 372xt/oe372, ms200t/201t....etc,etc. It's funny how we still don't learn our lesson and fully believe this new 'unknown saw' will change our world time & time again.lol :facepalm:
