View attachment 23828 Sorry if this has already been discussed. We just got a new 550xp at work. It came with this sweet .325 18" bar that has a replaceable tip. How long have these been out people???????

Looks like a rebranded Oregon Power Match, and those have "always" been an option as far as I know.

They are heavier than the laminated Norwegian made Husky bars though, and also more expensive, so I assume they mostly are sold on new 50cc saws when the costumer request it.

Personally, I prefer the lighter laminates on a 50cc saw - but opinions obviously vary.

Junkman, nice post, but maybe you should back away from the jug for a few hours. (steels, thr, squarr, klamsoil?).

Just curious, is Klamsoil mentioned in the 'oil thread'?
Inside joke with the guy i was quoting ,and yes klamsoil is mentioned several times in the oil thread .:borra2:
Guys were mixing oils together for some reason to try them out ,so i came up with the klotz/amsoil mix getting klamsoil

I did that with Dominator and R50 a few weeks ago in my bike after my oil was left on the bumper of the truck.

What really is new are the improved "pro"/"x-force" laminated bars . .

"sealed bearing system. With a sealed system no more greasing of the nose sprocket is needed"
Are these the Oregon SpeedCut bars?

Hear anything new about the Husky OEM chains?

The English speaking Husky sites are a mess at the moment, after they changed them, so to see the options available it is better to go to the Swedish or Norwegian sites . .

That's like shopping at IKEA for most of us!

As far as I know, there are no direct connection between the Husky Pro/X-force and the Oregon Speedcut, but there are similarities that may not be totally coincidentiel?

The 'sealed bearing' is a big change for Husqvarna. Coming out about the same time as the Oregon product makes me wonder.

Yes - and the rather "intimate" relationship between Husky and Oregon trough many years is another factor.

So far, the new Oregon bars are only about .325 NK though, and the new Husky bars .325 NK, regular .325 and 3/8" (regular, not lo-pro). In addition, the Husky bars are made in Norway, and I assume the Oregon ones are not.

. . . these bars will eventually replace the Pro-Lite family.
- 'SpeedCut' is a narrow kerf (micro-lite) bar . . . for use . . . on saws up to 55 cc
- 'ControlCut' are standard kerf bars (.050, .058 and .063 gauge) with small nose radius which helps prevent kickback . . .
- 'VersaCut' are standard kerf bars (.050, .058 and .063 gauge) with large nose radius which are suitable for use in a variety of applications."

Would Oregon sell bars that are made in Norway, at a Husky factory? I guess anything is possible, but making things in Norway is not cheap at all, unless it isn't labor intensive....

Its a good time for chainsaw bars, lots of clever light new options on the market. I use Oregon micro lites for pole sawing and am impressed with their quality/price. Oregon seems to be trying new ideas & designs which keeps us interested.

I use 0.325 pitch 0.058 Oregon powermatch plus bars which are what the husky bars are. Usually cheaper than husky branded and the same thing:

One fitted on my 350 with oregon LPX chain:
