Sweet! Does the Coleman model run only on Coleman fuel? I would think it would be kind of a pain to have to use a special and pricey fuel in wartime.

Nope, it can run on just about anything, however you do need to pre heat it with meths if you are using kero or similar.

Yes, but it's way more expensive than white fuel.

I don't like to use engine fuels in a stove due to the extra additives in them. I'm worried they may make me sick.
Thanks, I was thinking I should fire up my stoves for old time sake. The only Coleman fuel I have is over 25 years old. I have fresh 90 Rec and trufuel.

Ok. Thanks. I'll try it. I would buy a new can but you can't find it around here because of Helene.

So, I just unwrapped a complete and functional Adlake railroad lantern from Santa. It is from the L&N, which runs by my house under the CSX name today. Looks like all I need is a new wick. Anybody know how to remove and disassemble the fountain on it? It looks like it is just held in the cage by friction, but I don't want to force it and break anything.

Found this years ago in the back of an old barn along with a super old brass railroad company padlock that requires a giant skeleton key to open.
All the lantern says in Dietz night watch.
The glass in it is red. Never seen one like that myself.
