Which slot to use for the Woodruff key?E34828D4-8018-44F3-A099-AF1664D68838.jpegAnd how to remove this oil pump? I have run screws into the threaded holes and tried to pull but no joy. 78F0391A-9F76-4DB2-A9C4-AD0E521AAF02.jpeg
Thanks in advance.

The letter above the appropriate keyway should be the first letter of the name of the ignition style used I believe.
The two threaded holes are for jack bolts to push the pump out.
@Tor R can you confirm?

You will need to rotate the crank also to unmesh the worm.

Alright! I’m moving again thanks to you guys. :zpong:
I still don’t understand the keyway thing though. ( I jacked the oil pump out , just like you told me). Do I use the one with the letter over top of it ?

They both have a letter, no? If not my idea uis bunko, if so, what ignition coil does the saw have? Maybe this is the idea, might be not so much, just something I have seen in old saw's before, when electronic ignitions first came out and the saws came either way.
@Tor R might have some more direct insight than I can give.

I set the flywheel down over the keyway marked “P”.
The saw has a blue “Preflux” (not sure on the spelling) coil so , what the heck. If it doesn’t run there , it’ll run in the other slot for sure.
Thanks for all the help guys!

Here it is fellows. Nice little saw. When you fill it up it reeks of gas because the little umbrellas (vents) built into the caps leak. Have run about a tank thru it. So far so good. Has a hole in the fuel line right where it connects to the carb, is sealing for now but will order line on Monday. Oh, I almost forgot, it turns out the slot marked “P” was the correct choice for the flywheel installation. image.jpgimage.jpgRuns good too. I hope he’ll approve of the brake. His other side cover was toast and didn’t have one. But this was a $25 deal at my local dealer so I couldn’t pass it up.
