I think we all realize that. I was just commenting on the obvious two different colors of the stickers in the latest photo you showed. Probably the only real way to know the difference would be to look through the carburetor and see if there is an aluminum flange just in front of the intake skirt

I will see if I can get some pictures Friday. No promises though as generally when I take a pic it comes out looking bad. I swear I took better pictures with a Kodak 110 Instamatic with a flash cube.

Most of us have a lot of saws....and it would take years and years for the issues these are known for to become worrisome.

Yeh, 400.1 anticipation may be a factor with some as well.

I agree. It’s worth it the way they run, just don’t hold the throttle wide open out of the wood and maintain the cutters and rakers and they will last just fine

It took my first one you ported over what 4 years of gettin the balls ran off it to Crack it's nuts ?, for occasional users it will last forever. And it's not like it got babied those 4 years..

I know of and personally ran an early 462c that received some serious use, borderline abuse, logging operation. It’s a 19 or 20 year model and he’s had it that long. On the back of a truck, air filter rarely cleaned. And it’s still a backup saw to this day. Plastic is all dull and faded. Those saws will likely meet their demise in a pinch and crush incident or something similar long before the engine gives way.
