Man.. I'm more tickled over this saw than I am my new dolmar.. lol.. found it at the local pawn shop...just like the one I started with in 1984 when I went into the fire wood bidness... except mine didn't have the fancy little plastic safety shield... I'll warn you ahead of time.. I'm awful at videoing and sawing with one hand.. but here goes.. btw.. if I posted in the wrong place please move it.. thanks!!

Throwing some chips! You should be given an award for being able to saw and video at the same time lol. Congrats on the new old saw.

Deleted my previous post...I was able to watch it on my phone, just not the PC. Nice Homie for $50 bucks.

Good 'ol Super XL. That was my first saw purchase. I gave $65 for mine at a pawn shop back in '95. Still have it and it still runs!

Great old Homie..guy I cut firewood with in high school used one of these for years...along with a stihl 032. He still has both of them...I think these saws must be near bulletproof....if maintained!! Lol

We still have XL12 and SuperXLAO`s running and cutting firewood for their owners and been doing so since the saws were new, some of them date back to the early 70`s. They may only cut up 3 - 7 cords of wood each year for the winter heating season but they still rumble on faithfully. Owners refuse to stop using them til something major breaks, like a piston skirt totally worn til it breaks off and takes the cylinder with it.

I am not a homelite guy but the SXLAO I had find me was in awesome shape. I think the previous owner strait gassed it the first tank! I put a used pc on it and it ate some wood. It really surprised me how much torque they have.

If you really needed two hands on a saw wouldn't there be an operator presence lever on the front handle too?

everybody gave me hell for posting a video cutting wood one handed around here.
i see how it is around here.

Not everybody, I was wondering if the chainsaw safety committee was prominent over here when I watched your vid.

I have a couple of the sxl saws. They all impressed me with how much torque they have. Another is the super ez model. They have a nice exhaust tone also.

I don't pay the man's bills so I sure as hell ain't gonna tell him how to use his chainsaw.
