Just spent lunchtime with an old boy who used to be a parks ranger in aussie bush, he had a newish 046 which got swept down the river along with his ute and trailer, spent two weeks underwater and was still there in the tray when they dragged the ute out, the dealer changed spark plug, drained it and changed fluids, started after a few pulls and still going decades later

These new saws have a hell of a bench mark to break even, let alone be better

Let the woot woot whirley grind commence!!

So Weight...
Speed...
Handling...
Price...
It comes down to personal preference. So glad that MMWS has both to make this decision easier. Easier to just buy both :)

I see Stihl being forced to make a price adjustment very soon. Husky has dropped the price significantly it seems on the 572, at least here. I spoke with a local dealer the other day that is advertising at 915 EU and will go cheaper. That's better than the price of a 441.

In 12 x 12 white pine.....

I agree with you Randy they are both nice saws will be nice after the 462 gets a few more tanks through it though then trying again .I personally don’t think there will be much in it between the both of them besides the weight

This news can only be good for the consumer I can see further reductions in price as the release date gets closer in the US market.I can see the competition in the 70cc class being very stiff as both manufacturers have produced very nice saws indeed

The clutch cover on the 462 looks very small (weight saving) and both the dogs look like a waste of time.

Those are standard EU dogs and they are always smaller and less effective than what you guys get on saws in other parts of the world.

Pics below are outer dog that I bought with a wrap handle for a 562XP and the inner is the standard dog that comes on an EU 560XP. Quite a difference. I'm going with the US spec ones.

Since both the saws in the vidja (572 and 462) are EU specs, they are equipped with small dogs. Why? You got me, that's just how we roll over here.
