I am pretty good with tuning by ear. I've been around a little bit. But mostly with just stock saws. This is my first ported saw.
Up here in RI, I am mostly at sea level, no altitude, and it has been extremely humid when I last used the saw.

High is easy. It's by ear with unlimited coil. Low is done by how it runs and throttle response.

This whole thread is a prime example of why I like this forum.
We've got great saw builders helping out there customers with their newly purchased "toy". (@jmssaws )
We've got great people offering assistance to those who may need a bit (@paragonbuilder )
People are asking serious questions and getting honest answers. (@RI Chevy )
I love it!
My hats off to you guys. This is great!!

Throttle response is nice, but when it returns to low idle, it stalled a few times after about 10 to 15 seconds.

I do it similar. It must be warmed up like Jason said.
As you turn the low in, it will speed up. Then suddenly it will start to drop revs, back it off just enough to run smooth and set idle (la). (You may have to adjust idle to keep it running during this.)
Now check throttle response, if it's doggy back it out a hair til it's crisp and reset la.

Here is a video I took today. not the best quality, but it was the first time I videotaped myself.
Saw ran well. the wood being cut is Walnut that was previously cut by someone else. It had been sitting for a few months.

The 2nd cut, the wood was moving as soon as I started the cut. I had to lift a little. The wood was a little wet, so not that good of a test piece. Still have a lot of work left. Lol

Thanks. I am still working on tweaking the carb. This saw is much more responsive to the adjustments than my stock saws. A little adjustment makes a big change.

The chips flying certainly tell the story. LOL
When I left this morning, I forgot my 20" bar and chain in my garage. I was mad when I got there and realised I forgot it. So I was only able to use the saw with the 24" bar.
Next time.
