MS361 rim sprocket

Is the rim sprocket on a MS361 large or small? Going to order a 9 tooth .325 so I can use the bars and chains I have.

It'l a large spline. The 9 tooth/.325 is the one you need.

For cons, with some bar lengths, you'll have to ad another link to the chain, or shave the tail of the bar.

Exemple: A "16/.325 Stihl bar need usually 67 drive links. With the 9teeth rim, you'll need 68 DL, or you'll have to remove some material from the rear of the bar.

They're 18" bars . Came with ms290 and my ms261 wears one.

Not sure how many DL would be needed with an "18 bar, but like I said, if you shave the back of the bar, it'll be fine.

74 DL's, 18" bar, .325" pitch

Most Stihl MS 361 saws are equipped with 3/8" pitch chain, but I've often wondered if a .325" pitch chain might cut smoother with an 18" bar. Let us know how it turns out.

Smoother, yes, but you're loosing torque with the larger ring.

That sprocket is a standard or medium.
017 -260 is mini
029 -390 can be mini or small. 1127 farm boss
034 -460 is medium. *except early 034-036 small*
660 or 1122 is large

088 no clue
