I was gifted a MS310 with a stripped spark plug hole. Don't know how much of a gift it is, haven't looked at it yet.

Are the workshop and parts manuals available?

I would take a MS 310 with a stripped out spark plug hole in a heartbeat...there are options to repair the threading or getting another cylinder if it is too bad. Good luck with the fix, keep us informed!

I have an otherwise good 310 cyl…with stripped plug hole..free, assuming I can find it.
Friends’s saw, didn’t want to spend $ so I found a nos Farmertec 390 kit on eBay for $10.
