My question to you guys i have 180 opposed magnetic one has a good magnetic draw the other dose not isn't it supposed to have magnetic draw on both magnetic on the flywheel?

Pull cover, put compass near magnets. One should point north, one south. 180 degrees apart.

Only one side is supposed to draw metal, I believe the other side is just a counterweight (no draw) to keep the flywheel balanced.

Edit: You are good to go, ask away with the questions, we all learn from it!!

Have you checked all the wiring and coil? What made you check flywheel? Can you provide more details?

If in fact, you don't have proper magnetism, it will not create the magnetic flux needed to create spark or send signal based on component position.

I believe the two magnets produce ac current that is sent to the magneto and the ecm. I dont have a firm grasp on the logic in detail. Im providing a primitive explanation.

When you pull the starter rope, the flywheel spins, magnets generate power, coil energizes,ECM wakes up, spark and fuel control begin.

Generally, the magnets won't usually fail or lose magnetism. Usually, the flywheel hits and damages them. I have seen them lose magnetism, but, not often.

Whenever I read one of these It boggles my mind. Why do you think you have a spark problem in the first place. I would assume everything from the plug, the coil, the wires, and switches first assuming I verified the problem isn't fuel related before I would suspect the flywheel magnets. That would the the last thing I would think. Why don't you walk us through your issue first so we might be able to help you. Sometimes its hard to see the spark or maintain contact in the right place to get one.
