I contacted the guy you are referring to for a new 261. He wanted $50 less than I could get one from the next door dealer. Not enough savings for a two hour round trip. He had some made up story that he ordered four of them for clearing some land when covid hit. All his help left and had three saw that weren't used. Not sure what his true story is but always has new or refurbished saws listed on minneapolis CL using ALL CAPPITOL LETTERS.

My favorite small saw is Jonsered 2153 or 346. Ported with 18 inch bar there is nothing that outperforms it. It’s better than ms261 and stock ms361

Yeah just something light and a heavy hitter. Stihl only tho sorry can’t do that husky stuff or red either lol

A built 034/036 might be the trick , they are pretty light and powerful.
Even a 044-036 hybrid from a reputable builder would be killer.
