Mountfield 827m - pedal identification

Hello

Just took ownership of a Mountfield 827m ride-on mower, and a pedal doesn't appear to be included in the manual.

I've taken a photo of the pedal (attached) located on the left hand foot side of the mower just Infront of the seat.

Any ideas?

I'm the last person that should take a stab at this, but is it the neutral for the hyd0, so you can push it?

Possibly a safety lockout that will allow you to mow in reverse without killing the engine?
