Sleep-working on saws is a genius solution, and one I didn’t know about. Either way, I’m certain that Doc’s time efficiency scores are off the charts..he definitely makes use of his day/night. I also completely agree that he puts other people and their happiness/satisfaction first, often to his own detriment. Quite a guy.

I've had a similar experience with two of my saws that Doc Al @drf256 has done for me. I found a scrub of an MS260 on eBay for $75 and had threaded about what mods to do to it.

He pops in and volunteers to port it in exchange for olive oil. Lol. PM's and phone calls were exchanged and things spiraled out of control from there.

We went from a port job to a firey finger ported 026 build (in progress). Then came the NOS 044's. I sent Al my 044 to make it one of those killer hybrids he's been posting vids of. It's arriving any day and I'm super stoked to run it.

Al was stellar in communicating through the whole process. Pics, vids, and information were a daily affair when he was completing the work on the saws.

He also shared info and was willing to ship me some extras in the box with my saws. Great guy all around and super helpful. Definitely a a service before self kind of guy.

I highly recommend Doc Al to anyone looking to have a super strong running saw. His work is top shelf.

Update: The EAGLE has landed. The MOFO 044/046 hybrid is finally home. Man, what a saw Al built. Can't wait to run it.

Everything above is 100% true! Legendary guy Al is. I feel lucky to have a saw done by Al, have hung out w/ Al, and enjoy some of the amazing food he cooks.
I've said this like a broken record -- wish he was near by as I would definitely get together more often!

I have a 440/460/272 piston hybrid that is a sweet setup done by Al. The saw definitely pulls like a mofo!

Saw ran better than I thought it would with a 28” bar in some frozen hemlock. With a 20” bar this thing should be fun...

Funny. I did the same with my mofo 361 this weekend. I was totally impressed with it in frozen ash. I installed the 460HO parts she oiled it ok

Lot of big fluffy chips from a 50cc saw. I could not be happier with this MOFO 261. I’ll be watching the For Sale ads for one of his 026 or 034’s looking for a new home.

Have owned and built 4 or 5 262s. Always sold them because they run so well and dudes like them.

Asked Doc to build me one because coming from my Buddy it will never leave here. Saw runs and tunes friggin sweet.

Figured I'd wright this long overdue review. I contacted AL earlier in the year for an oem non decomp cylinder for my 036. He kindly offered to port it, little did he know I was going to ask him if he could anyway. He had it done in no time and also supplied me with a mesh filter and meteor piston. He was an absolute professional to work with. I did a full oem rebuild, advanced timing, and modded the muffler. After about 10 tanks through it I am pleased to say it has become my favorite most versatile saw. I look forward to sending my 026 to him this fall.
