I haven't been building too many saws, just tinkering around with the saws I have... swapped out the carb on the hybrid... it runs much better... maybe this weekend I'll toss it into some hardwood and video.
Looks pretty good to me!

Well, $h!t happens... luckily, the cylinder was fine.
Pulled it apart, cleaned the cylinder and honed it... that plating is tough.

My shins are fine... 🤷‍♂️ The Saw has some decent power... but, it should as it's a 77cc saw.

It's the only wood I have at the house... if I want to cut bigger wood I gotta drive 20mins to a buddies house. For the 1st heat cycle this will do. Lol

That's Dramatic!
Yeah, Juuuust a bit over the top. Lol.
He said it was his favorite saw until it stopped running. Lol
I picked it up, pulled the rope heard what i thought was the piston hitting the squish-band, figured rod bearing weren't. NOPE.. thats tight like new... so, with nothing visible on the outside... I can only assume this saw ran so hard that it went into Pac-Man mode... Chomp chomp chomp 🤷‍♂️
Though, it looks like it ingested a bit of junk... the filter was spotless but I did notice fine particulates inside the carb...
He's been running Amsoil 100:1. The plug is dark, had oil on the bottom side... 🤔

How thin was the base after machine work was it just crap pot metal or that thin causing the two ears snapping off. Or piston got hot bound up and did the snapping?

bad idea. I refuse to believe that oil is twice as good as anything else.
