Of course you are..... You need any kids or dogs? How about a 6 month old 462 and a shop sweeper/coffee fetcher/tool *b-word for the next couple years? Lmao

I already have 462. LOL

I'll get this thing out and blow to dirt off pretty soon. Might not be worth much.

You may need 200,000 likes before you can sell something again.

We...as a group of moderators and forum members are trying to figure out a way to protect other members of our community from dishonest sellers. Have you got anything you'd like to suggest, or is sarcasm your only skill set?

Maybe have the sellers post a picture or video of them running the saw.

I'm just kidding, and I've been thinking, but draw a blank. Haven't most of the scammers been good in the past? How do you protect against a good guy all of a sudden turning bad? I like problem solving, but this is a tough one. Having a 100 post limit may be a burden to some people, not like at matters right, because we're just trying to protect the members already here? But, some have been here for 3-5 years and don't have 100 posts, probably because they are hard workers who only check in when they have a legit ope question or want to buy a unique saw/parts. I would like to see stricter enforcement of the no paypal F&F. Right after that rule there were many for sale posts all wanting F&F payment. I tend to prefer G&S anyway because I get a discount on shipping, and can print a label online instead of driving to and paying more at the post office.

Maybe an OR system would help. 100 post minimum, OR a member for at least 6 months OR two or more known members to vouch for you. Most members here would be able to meet one of those standards at least. A lot of forums I have been a member of required people to be a premium member to sell at all. I would hate to see it go that way just because of a few pieces of garbage who
Like to screw people

Sorry about being "snappish" Remington. Just feeling sorta crummy today.

I hope you can get that tooth situation taken care of soon, big boss man. I had my broken tooth pulled last week and I feel shades better. I have another one
getting a root canal next week.

From my experiences, if you make a post limit, members just post the stupidest lame posts just to get the post count up. They still could scam you once the garbage posts are up to the limit.

Nutball I'll have to say this is one post of yours I agree 100% if it matters. 100 post's for some working members may take awhile to achieve. Goods and Services for a reason you mentioned and also a guarantee that the buyer is going to get what he bargained for. The 3% shouldn't be a deal breaker just a safety blanket. Members vouching should be taken into consideration as that has already happened this week. I think you mods are doing just fine in running a tight ship for sure. Thanks for watching out for the members on here, much appreciated. TimG.

The tooth thing pretty much resolved itself for now. I'm just not yet fully recovered from Covid I'm afraid.

Just don't overdo Randy! I'm afraid I'm one of the covid "long haulers" :( I have had symptoms since mid November! But I'm alive and not on a ventilator, so I'll take it!

Also no one ask me but here's my first thoughts.
I do think a min. count is a good idea but the first thing that came to mind was JMS. He had a bunch of posts but still managed to hose a bunch of people! It'll be hard to prevent people from getting screwed. I still use F&F for some people and hope that people trust me enough to use it but I don't expect it.

There is only so much you can do to prevent frauds. Things like minimum post counts, vouching, etc helps. But up until it went bad both JMS and Wicked Work saws carried good reputations here. I think implementation of some of the measures I listed above will help, but we also need to make sure everyone knows that it’s buyer beware, use payment methods that give you some ability to recover your funds if it goes bad, and don’t wait to long before raising the flag. If it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck and your saw has been “packed and ready to ship” for 2 months it’s time to escalate
