Up for sale is my Mastermind ported 592xp. I bought this at the first of this year from Dominick (@TreeLife). The saw runs and performs very well. I've ran it some but not much. The only "flaw" is that the muffler has been dented on the front (came to me that way). Doesn't affect it's performance at all. I'd like to get $1,400 for it. PayPal friends and family preferred.20230812_013026.jpg20230812_012702.jpg20230812_012637.jpg20230812_012702.jpg20230812_012621.jpg

Yes, this is the saw he built for Dominick and did the video for him. It's a really good saw...

395 is a little more forgiving when on the dogs. I’ve run one of my ported 395s, my ported 592s, and my tree monkey 661 with 36“ .404 and all 3 were within a couple seconds of each other in a rock hard sugar maple stump log.

How is the 592 crankcase compared to the 395? The 394/395 crankcases are designed to deal with a lot of heat soak. They're born from the 1100/2100/2101 which were designed to deal with the heat of a jungle environment.

They weigh more similar to a 390, so I would imagine they don’t have the mass of magnesium that the 395 has. But the 395 also has its weaknesses. Aren’t many old ones that still have the front lower left limiter boss casting in place and many of them are missing chunks in the front of the case and have the right rear side of the crank case broken out. I would imagine the 592 will probably follow suit with the 572. I don’t see too much but here and there you’ll find a broken spring mount or dog mount

Some of the porters will answer this better, but in my understanding, no. They won't run a 42 and 50" bar like a 395 will.
@bradb123 has had experience with both.
I've run 36" 404 on both the 592xp and the 395xp. A well ported 395xp has a little more torque.

I've probably welded up more 394/5 cases than anything else. Lots of LF rubber av snubber loops and rear two cylinder cover mounts.

The 592 case has it's weak points too, I've welded a couple of upper spike mounts. Also the 592 is an internal clutch so it's more prone to heat soak from that.

Ported 592 compared to 395 you're giving up around 1hp, ~10% with the 592, but it seems the ergonomics and feel of the 592 win out. Outboard chain tensioner and the lighter/tighter feel help the 592. It also seems the hot start issue days of the autotunes are gone and the 592 starts first/second pull all the time where the 394/5 can be a bear to start some times.

Great point on inboard clutch. I always figured, my old outboard clutch Huskies would last logger, in stumps, milling or big would. Always figured inboard clutch presented more heat.
