Hurricane Matthew knocked over a lot of large trees here in coastal Georgia so i have been cleaning up around my neighborhood every weekend.
Water oaks and live oaks up to 48" were down in yards either side of my yard so i had plenty of wood to run saws on.
The Stihl/MM 361 that Randy sold me got a real workout eating big wood with ease. It went thru 8 gallons of fuel making chips and noodles everywhere. Neighbors came by to see what the hell i was running, they never heard a saw that sounded like that. They were amazed at the stream of chips shooting 10' out when cutting straight down into the large trunks. The 20" bar was buried most of the time but the saw just kept on slinging chips.
This saw is impressive, it will work all day with no trouble. It will show you when you have properly sharpened the chain too.
The MM 261 got broken in on the smaller wood, 24" and less cut with ease. It will sling noodles too. With a 18" bar it makes a great smaller saw to walk around with limbing, clearing, or climbing around the fallen tree tops.
It impressed me and the lawn maintainence guys that live by me. They were dragging limbs and rolling rounds for me. The 3 of them were amazed at the volume of stuff i was cutting up for them to move.
They are about 28 years old but this 58 yo. kept them busy.
They have split about 10 cords so far and when it all sells it will pay for their beer and pay me a little too.
We are using the scrap wood, limbs etc to burn the upended root balls at night, it gives them light to drink their beer by too.
Thanks Mastermind your saws made the cleanup fun.
