Got one of Mike's chain vices coming and can't wait. While I don't mind sharpening at the "wood lot" occasionally, its going to be nice to hand file at home off of the saw and now I can bring an extra chain for each saw. May even try square filing..

If you got a square receiver hitch, grab one of those Wilton hitch vises to go with it Matt.

Yes I will eventually have one. Might try to fab the atv mount so that it is bench high on the side of the dump trailer since to receiver will be blocked. Make it so it is removable. Lots of ideas not as much money and time to match. Lol

You can buy a cheap used vice and weld it onto a piece of square tube.
Just an option

Yes sir. More than likely what I’ll do. Then our dump trailer has some side rails. I’ll have to make something that goes on and off somehow. I don’t want to weld on the newer dump trailer. I’ll think of something. Great now I’m going out to look at it. Lol. got some idears.

There are some commercially available vise mounts for hitch receivers:

Also, ran across a cheap version of the Wilton hitch vise at TSC and Home Depot while searching for a photo of the above:

Good find. I’ll look it up. Cheaper the better as all it will be doing is holding a saw or Mikes Vice like Jeff showed above. I can fab something to make it higher.

You can grab a cheap vice new unbranded on eBay for like 45 for a six inch. Less for the smaller ones. You’d be set

This is a home made version (Grandpatractor?), photographed at a GTG. One of the issues you can see is that the farther the vise is placed, vertically and horizontally, from the receiver, the more sway/flexing/movement there is. On this one, they used web straps to try and stabilize it, but I would go for a shorter one for a more rigid, stable mount.

Harbor Freight discontinued (?) their receiver vise mount, but still sells this pretty cheap (for those of us who do not weld):
