What changed regarding HP or kW since that saw was made? 5.9kW is much less than 12HP, so which is it? Would be fun to see it on the dyno.
I think that 12 HP is an exaggeration or a miss print .Most likely around 8-81/2 HP .Then again I've seen articles of the aviation model of the Mac 125 or 101 engines giving a rating of 15 HP which might be a little iffy .

Interesting find on this model . I detect a tad bit of Partner in this thing .Although I know exactly nothing about it I might assume this was real close to the demise of McCulloch motors . Makes a person wonder what if these designs came out 10 years before if big Mac could have survived .

It’s basically a Dolmar 166 , with a Mcculloch touch on it ,

As a matter of fact I just looked it up .Evidently it was only produced for the Australian market .As far as the big Dolmar I've only seen three in my life time and ran one at Chardon Ohio at the saw races .Plenty of power that one .

So now the puzzle is coming together .The Mac SP 1000 was a Partner P-100 with a different shade of yellow paint .Now comes a Sachs-Dolmar 166 in yellow paint .The big question are there any more out there ?Then again the cinder block Mac 610's were sold in a number of colors and names .Then add to that with Homelite Xl-12 and Poulan S25 DA .It was all in just what color you prefer .

You ever get the rear trigger? Was just oogling this! Well done!

No i haven't, I had been talking to a friend that used to be a Sachs Dolmar dealer but didn't get anywhere with it.
