I wonder if a rubber gasket could be made to go between the filter and the housing? It would probably help with a better seal.

Just put an outerwear cover on the h2d ,it will save a lot on cleaning vs a bare filter .

Not worked on the 661 myself Randy...so is the filter box force fed ?
Have worked on the Dolmar 9010 with its older sort of 2 section cover but has a much simpler filter unit.

No Simon, it is not force fed.......I wish it was.

I have done a few 9010s, but it's been awhile, and I don't recall much about their design.

As best as i can see from the odd pic iv found ..the intake on the standard cover on the 661 seems to be on the same side as the chain , wonder why . Pic of 9010 back end for you (intake on the other side to chain) ...
