Yep......and that's the stronger design. On a outboard clutch, the chain runs closer to the main bearing.

I've yet to hear of bearing failures on the 357. All the strato saws are prone to an early death. Less fuel thru the case means less oil.....

this 362 type 2 had a issue

I would believe they forgot to torque the screws.
Just like they forgot to run a bead around my air filter.

I don't have an 044 but I do have a S&W 629 4" .44 that'll ring a 2' wide x 6' tall steel water pipe at 200 yds... I plan to use it on deer around the 20-75yd mark.

Well Randy, I appreciate you looking into this saw. It just confirmed my suspicion that IF I end up w/another 60cc Stihl saw again, it'll be an 034 Super, 036 or MS361.

i prefer the 361 over the 362 i dont like the all spring suspension nor do i like the stratosaws
