Why didn't Makita just sell off the Dolmar name to an interested party and they could have continued petro powered Dolmars and if needed be they could have purchased battery powered equipment from Makita. They could have made millions especially if they sold the production facility in Germany.
I personally will never purchase a Makita branded anything because of their IGNORANCE!

As I posted in the other thread,

Wall, them Germans ain’t too big into mosquito foggin’ 2-strokes and all, or any sensible energy policy that would keep them from needing to buy Russian oil.

Those are old stock!
No new units are being made.

And I think there is a deadline set on selling new 2-stroke OPE, possibly even 4-stroke.
Can't find confirmation on that though.

I think he's talking about Stihl, which is also German. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the government would stand in the way of an easy transfer of ownership for a manufacturer like Dolmar. Also, Germany struggles from high labor costs, just like the USA.

Stihl has been making most their products in China for over a decade.

I wouldn't know for certain though as I buy & use only a couple consumables from Stihl.

One, actually.
Their chain storage box.
It is Jason's @jmester fault, all blame goes to Him!

Solo seems to be dabbling in the motor saw business yet but not in North America.

Wonder where the tooling and stuff went to? Surely not a dumpster?
Who knows? Lockheed had to cut up the tooling for the SR-71 so no other government could get access to it. Maybe Dolmar did the same.

Most likely, cashed in for scrap, done it myself for plenty of large expensive manufacturing tools.
