Good for use while those "other saws" are apart on your bench. At least you got one good running saw to carry you through. Lol

My huskies don't need work Jeff, that's just a rumor stihl fans spread cuz their saws are slow.
I can't help it if I have speed in my blood.
I just work on them cuz I can't leave well enough alone...

I've got a 460 here that does it. Locked up solid...
The saw runs beautifully when started, it only happens sometimes when it sits.
Essentially it's leaking fuel by the carb and hydro locking. Pull the plug and give it a few pulls, then pop it back when in and fire it up with the choke off. And it's back to perfect.
I need to rebuild the carb...

I had one do the exact same thing. Take the air filter off hold it upside down over yer head and pull slowly on the cord...if dirty mix come dribbling back at ya...ya know what yer dealing with.

Also have one on my bench right now that ate a main crank big end bearing...would only lock up when enough lateral motion caused it to jam up.

If it was mine I would break it down until I found the hair in the soup...its there you just gotta get past the chunky stuff....then it's easy to find...

This is why you boys have to port them stihls...
it's an effort to just try to keep up with stock huskys. No stihl in my sheds. Carry on
You must be a great mechanic. Lol

That's exactly what I plan to do. I could sort it out on my own but it's nice to discuss the problem and maybe it'll help someone else down the road.

IMG_0069.JPG They do cut trees clam man. My poor ol 55 vs 36 38 inch white oak. Yep they cut trees and stuff too. Had a picture on my old phone of one cutting a 5 foot drainage culvert. The big black plastic ones.

Sorry beagle briar. Damn husky vs stihl conversation erupted. Clam man don't have any faith in the Husqys. He was tryin to hurt our feelings. Saying they were always busted n stuff.
