Didn't see an introductions area so I figured I'd just throw this out since I've been lurking a while. Short story version: I was running a pro mac 850 right out of diapers, no chain brake, full chisel, never had a accident. Ran that thing long enough to put the ring in my ears then bought a new ms311 shortly after it came out that's been good to us. Needed a limbing saw so picked up a used hopped up 271 and slapped a 25" bar on it. Sold that a while back and got a free cs6700 timberwolf from a buddy that retired from the firewood game.

Decided I needed another hobby/project so I picked up a ms441 that was retired from a fire department in South Carolina. This things a pig, wore out av buffers and scorched piston but it is salvageable. Bought a NWP cylinder and piston, got that stabbed on there (was mildly impressed with the quality of the machining in the cylinder) now I just have to order the av parts and a new tank assembly.

I'm waiting on a ms250 kit from farmer tec for a little truck beater saw that I can throw in the tool box for downed trees and whatnot probably slap a light 25" bar on it and full skip just for giggles. After that's done I'd like to build a 660 or 440 or both, I'm itching to learn how to file square grind and build a hot saw for it.

To long didn't read version: firewood badass, getting older so bar gets longer, rebuilding 441, building ms250 kit, gonna spend more on the chain and bar than saw to do dumb things fast.

Welcome aboard!

Great deal right now (group purchase) on Chinese MS660s, and the Cross P&C. They run stronger than stock.

See the thread in the Chinese 660 section, and send Bruce (Gentleman) a PM if you are interested.

You get a box of parts, no instructions, a great project!

That's actually pretty good. I just have narrow passageways in my shop for walking from the side door to the bench, and then from the bench to the overhead door.

I have to walk around all sorts of junk to get to my bench. I know where the bench is as it has the highest pile of junk.

Welcome to forum. My wife still doesn't understand my interest in chainsaws, but puts up with it as it provides the firewood.

Thanks guys! That's actually not my shop just my bench, we had a house fire last December 7th (A day which will live in infamy) due to a rotted out airtight housing so I am currently renting space. Our barn is full to the gills with junk so at some point it'll get cleaned and Ill have space again... Hopefully! I've got a picture or two of a few trees I cut one was a rather large ash ~3' diameter and the other was a pretty big red oak that I still have to get milled. We cut a lot of ash, oak, hickory, elm etc etc. Right now I am trying to work out a deal to log a friends woods theres a lot of old growth locust in there that would be superb for tables. 40' of uninterrupted trunk no branches, probably 2' diameter mostly. Thatll come in time though need to get a mill or make a deal.
