Late model Honda push mower. Plunger in head to carb link?

What is this junk?

Runs and dies...not a mower guy. Haven't done my H/W yet, being lazy and asking first :-D

Was gummed up (CA gas) cleaned it out, still no worky.

It's called a Thermowax, as it warms up it pushes the choke open. They actually work pretty decent, if your carb was really gunked up do yourself a favor and buy a new one. Most of those push mower carbs are under $30.00

I think it’s saveable, mower is almost new. My buddy left $&@&$ CA gas in it...

carby needed a more thorough cleaning. Runs now.

Quit again, cleaned out again. Stored in same hot shed as echo string trimmer and hedge trimmer. They start every time. What gives? Using stabil and even non ethanol sometimes.

Yup. Just messed with neighbors mower that had one a month ago.

Discovered the fuel shutoff was leaking. In the process of messing with it I noticed black debris coming out the hose into a catch can when I turned it back and forth...it must be coming apart inside.

Got the new shutoff, next she’s getting nothing but RACE GAS

Just as I figured, bad o ring.

Looks like the valve would be repairable with an ethanol proof O ring.
