Is it common to need to drill the stihl bar tensioner hole for a jred?

I started to do it on an old bar.... but it's hard stuff.
Sure is, especially the older 70 80 90 etc saws.

All my stihl mount bars, I have lengthened the slot (I have a .475 carbide endmill saved for this) and the tensioner holes modified already.

No issue putting back on a stihl saw?

He has many adapters for many different saws. You can get an echo adapter to use a stihl 12mm mount bar

Can't get the 2188 to take my 24" bar yet. Holes enlarged, now the stihl chain is too short  Jonsered may be up for sale soon

Grind the slot or buy a sugihara. The total are short slots like a stihl mount. It's always been that way when running them.

Well that's one way, but once I get a feel for the larger bars I'm wanting the Stihl Light, and I don't really want to cut one of those up. The Jred is smooth, but it was probably always going to be a choice between that and the 661, and that 661 piggy is pretty nice.

I've ground on them as soon as they came out of the sleeve. If it's what you want make them fit with about 5minutes work

Cool. I know I said I'd buy two. If it fits the older Oregon bars like I think it will I'll be placing an order for a second.

I only needed one but bought 2 because I can look at something and fk it up lol
