didn't the air injection/turbo come from Partner on the 7700?

No, that was just what some of us thought for a while - before the matter had been "investigated" properly.

The early saws in that "family" did have "induction trough the fan" - but there was a pre-filter instead of the "duct" of the fully developed Air Injection/Turbo etc. The P7700 family got the fully developed version just in time for the 1992 catalogs (at least over here).
Also that saw family wasn't developed as early as some of us thought for a while, so it wouldn't have been "first" anyway.
