I have a very clean little John Deere Echo 50v for sale. Fires up, runs, idles, etc just fine. Looks great, all stickers are present. Asking $250 shipped. Possible trade for old Pioneer/Poulans from p38 through pp655

I'm curious--did Echo repaint a side cover black or did someone do that after the fact and install a proper decal?

This whole saw was obviously originally painted in orange after closer inspection. Then the JD colors were sprayed over in the factory. I’ve seen a number of others like it, with the orange showing through. The side cover is supposed to be black along with the yellow from the factory though.

The paint color/scheme is correct. That is how manufacturing worked back then and sill today to a point. When Tenneco (Case) bought IH in late 1984 they started painting the white (cream) Case tractors red when they came down the line. If you look at the early Case-IH ones you will see the red was sprayed right over white (cream)
