I didn't know where to put this so I landed it here .Much of my life I've just been at the right place at the right time and when I Ieast expect it falls right in my lap . .Today it happened to be an early John Deere 410 back hoe .Runs but needs some work,$1000 . How much work is yet to be determined .That thing weights around 14,000 pounds 66 horse power .Digs to 15 feet and lifts 5,000 pounds . My loader tractor an old 1950 Fergusen TO-20 will only lift a ton and it has no power steering. Now I need a back hoe about like I would another nose but I couldn't pass this one up . When I get going real well the hoe can stay at the house and the old Fergie can stay at my shop . Everything I own is old and most of the time I can revive them .

You couldn't say no to that Al. It's worth more than twice that in scrap. And probably 10times that in use around the house. Is it a 310 or 410? A-D? KARMA or living right they both count sir. Enjoy the toy.

Congrats! Hope you know your way around a wrench. I’m constantly working on my old tractors. And I’m no expert.

I'm not sure of what model the 410 is but assume it's early . I have a hunch it might just need the fuel system "burped " IE air in the lines some place . I just ran into it trying to help by bud Tom who owns a tree service .He has a diesel Vermeer chipper that won't slip into high speed .I had it down to some kind of solid state device I know nothing about .Vermeer is going to finish that job,I gave up. Stuff like that I try to find the service manual for rather than guessing at it.As it is I have manuals from model A Fords to Lincoln MK 7's,chainsaws,Caterpillars,you name I probabley have it .BTW this is not my first rodeo ,that was when I rebuilt an AC model B tractor at 15 years old that sits in my shop now .Made in 1938 my dad bought in 1958 and I inherited on his passing in 2006 .

The 410 is a older machine and Deere is not good at parts support so searching out used parts is essential.
