is there a "better" stock carb for the 372 series?

If the moons, planets, stars and galaxies line up correctly this year, I'll get this done this summer. I'll even do a write up and a YouTube video too. But, when the dust clears up a bit and I get things in motion. I'll get more info then. Right now, I'll let this stew for a bit on the back burner.

Just snagged a Tillotson HS299a from a husky 385/390. Thinking of doing a Hyway Ti 52mm popup 2065. I know a oem 50mm would be cheaper and easier but I have it in my head and the 51.4 kits are even higher nla. Thinking poor mans 390.
