I just blew everything out with the air gun and washed it all out with gasoline I'm cleaning it out as best as I can and I'm keeping the inside of the crankcase as clean as I can. Should I blow out the crankcase is well and rinse that out with gasoline or something else what do you guys think

Take a shop vac and clean around that case now that you have the cylinder off so you don't knock any more saw dust into the bottom end. I personally wouldn't rinse the bottom end, it should be just fine. All the bearings have oil on them from the mix gas it was running through it, you want that oil left on those bearings. Just vacuum everything up. You could stuff a rag around the rod down in the case while you are cleaning up the rest of the case with the vac.

Should i grease this, and is regular green grease ok to grease it with?View attachment 16416

Just a few drops of 2-stroke oil is fine. When you put everything back together make sure all metal to metal surfaces get a light coating of clean 2 stroke oil.

Also how sensitive is the saw to how much permatex i use? Since i didn't think to buy a gasket, im deleting it and just using permatex.

Just spread a thin layer of it over the case side and make sure you don't block any impulse hole for the carb if there are any.

That 51813 is some picky stuff.

I would use Permatex Motoseal.
Uh oh, eggsplain please. I just used it for the first time, should I take it off before I get further? I started a thread asking about the activator the instructions mentioned and was told I would be fine...

I use it and nothing else.......

The surface must be spotless, and not too slick. Also, the surface must be 100% oil free. I clean with brake parts cleaner before assembly. Then.......I like to wait 12 hours before starting the saw so it can cure well.

Like Randy said, brake cleaner is yr friend! I buy it by the 4 gallon drum.
Great for washing off dirt and crap and for squeaky clean surfaces for the glue to seal well.

I see. Guess I didn't catch that earlier. Just would hate to see anything happen to his saw.

Wouldn't hurt to double check if he has everything to do it. The only place I can find 0.030 diameter solder near me is in a small butane soldering kit... Should have enough solder to last me a lifetime though.
