Hey guy's, sorry for the lack of updates...... I'm a little bit busy at the moment (and slightly ill last weekend), but i'm sitting on hot coal's to continue on the 462! On this weekend i will definitely have time

However, i have an info on another hot toy

After the leaked pic's in the last weeks, Stihl has officially anounced the new MS500i on today's press conference!

They talk about 1hp per Kilo or 1hp/2,2lbs. It looks like it doesn't has pre filtration with these air inlets and filter/carb on the tank housing.

I'm looking forward to the weekend now to bring the 462 to life again

Yes, it is fuel injected. No precise infos on the weight so far. But i guess 6,5-7kg with the same amount of power/hp per kg.

Mike the 500i chop saw had been available for several years now. I believe it's a 72 cc rated at 5.2 hp. Obviously I'm assuming the chainsaw will be similiar specs but I'm speculating at best. Most of the construction suppliers I deal with don't push them that hard. They tell me the ones they have sold either the owner loves them or they absolutely hate them. Most being the later. I was told by several of these shops that they are extremely finicky on the quality of fuel. Most of this information I'm relaying was from early in when they first came out. As with anything I'm sure improvements have been made since they were introduced. We all know chop saws are one of the most abused pieces of equipment on the planet

When I pull up info from Stihl, I see the new 462 is rated at 4.4 kW power, and the 461 is 4.5 kW. Initially thought they were the same. Still great power to weight, just wish the power migrated in the other direction!

I guess one of these days I'll have to flush out my hybrid and see what the weight is, ditto my 10 mm 044.

I know that it puts out a lot more than this does stock.

I have to presume that since the Hybrid uses the 12 mm crank & rod, it is closer to 14 lbs than 13 lbs.

Also, the lightest 044s don't have dogs and have the mesh filter. It all adds up.
