Hey y’all. Question on a coil swap - is it possible to swap coils on say a 620p for a 262 unlimited? I get it would have to be fitted. Flywheel spins, magnet comes in proximity, coil creates electricity and plug sparks. Is it that simple aside from making room on the case?

ahhh yes I think I see now, ignition timing would be off depending on the location of the new non-model specific coil?

I need to read more about ignition and two stroke ignition timing.

BTW a 620 coil is considered unlimited. The 590's and later 600's have a limited coil in that it drastically reduces the timing past 13k. The early cs-600's have the spiciest timing of them all. A411000450

If the bolt holes are same/same, stack the coils with bolts going through the holes and see where the magnets fall on the new vs the
OE. If the new one is only like an 1/8-3/16" advanced you will more then likely be fine. Its a minor spark advance of 2-3 degrees.....But if its the other direction in rotation its not going to run right.
