Totally depends on the particular gun and intended use, I think. Making a Glock out of Colt Royal Blue steel with ivory grips would nullify many of that gun's advantages. Likewise, making a Winchester 94 with CAR stock and piccatinny rails would be pretty silly, wouldn't it?

Oh, wait...

That is an abomination.

That being said, a tasteful adjustable stock, optic rail and detachable/movable picatinny pieces for a flashlight mount would be readily acceptable. The threaded barrel (for a suppressor) is a plus. The goofy schitt shown here is just...... tacti-oogly.

Thompson Contender pick any three calibers, 22 Hornet, 41 mag.
Dan Wesson pick any three barrels 2",4",6",8",... pick your caliber too. 357 mag.
1911 pick your caliber, 45acp gov. Auto ordinance out side all Wilson inside, very nice trigger pull now, cc nice next to my fat gut.
Reload so make what ever, been using coated lead bullets still working on them but grouping is 3" at ~50' still working on load for the 357 shot at 38spec.. will have money riding at the club later this summer.

Only 3 handguns eh? Hmm. Probably have to go with sprinfield xd45 tactical as EDC (it is my EDC) wife keeps taking my Springfield xds45.....then Ruger SBH 44 mag, wife decided she likes my Ruger SRH 454 for a berry picking gun....an last but not least my third handgun would probably be a rifle....Lr-308, 338 ultramag, 375 Ruger or even Marlin 1895 in 45-70. There's a fair amount of 1000+ lb critters cruising my property. Fortunately have only seen one set of bear tracks last year.

Well my big game hunting pistol choice recently changed. Just acquired a freedom arms 454.
That's sexy. The finest production single action ever made. I never feel under gunned carrying a 454.
The FA guns are the pinnacle of factory SA revolvers.
Mine has a 4 3/4" barrel. Kinda like shooting a hand grenade. I bought it to carry on fishing trips in Alaska. Glad I never needed it for its intended purpose. I have a SRH Toklat in .454, that's much more civilized.
