1/2” thick, maybe a little more. Oatmeal caramel chocolate chip
For me, testing and learning and having fun...here in the desert the cookies have more monetary value as decoration than firewoodWhat are you guys burning those cookies in as firewood? That would be less convenient than slabs, already a hassle, to use for firewood in either of my wood burning stoves. If just using them for camp fires I can get it. I don't really understand the point of cutting a bunch of cookies, unless you have a buyer lined up.
Cutting a log into cookies is not truly meant to be "firewood processing", it is more a having fun thing. What are you guys burning those cookies in as firewood? I've repurposed a lot of sawdust for farm use, so I'm sure it can be of value. Especially the coarse stuff made by chainsaws.Cutting a log into cookies is not truly meant to be "firewood processing", it is more a having fun thing.
Powerful saw, well sharpened chain, perfectly sized knot free log - when all these variables converge cutting cookies is nearly mandatory.
Burning cookies is less than optimal in most cases, but they do burn good and the wood chips can be repurposed too.

I've been saving up candle wax just to try and make some myself. How do you like raising rabbits? We are doing chickens and harvesting the roosters. Harvest ten last year, probably more this year. I'm not sure I could do a rabbit, dinosaurs are just easier for me.We use chainsaw generated wood chips and noodles for:
- chicken bedding
- rabbit bedding
- flower bed covering
- noodles under strawberry plants, prevents them from getting dirty/muddy after a rain shower
We tried burning wood chips, it's too much of a hassle.
We made firestarter bricks soaking noodles with wax, it works fine but requires some time to make.
We have barred rocks, wyandottes, ameraucanas, one austrolorp hen, and some crested legbars. Have a few "backyard" mix chicks, most are roosters tho. Just ordered 16 more hatching eggs to get some good genetic diversity to set up a breeding program. You can get tons of candle wax out of a semetary dumpster.
Just saying as we (my dad, I helped him) once were assigned to keep our semetary in order.
My dad is raising rabbits, he seems to enjoy it somewhat.
Rabbit meat is good eating, just prep it in some sauce as it's fairly dry meat.
My dad handles offing them well, in his youth he started schooling as a butcher.
My mom is keeping chickens for the eggs (New Hampshire) and for their looks (Silkies).
