These are my buddys dads saws, he passed away 2 years ago, he was a logger all his life & still worked till his last day on earth, my buddy dropped them off and asked if i can clean them up and get them running again, they havent been ran in 2 years, i know nothing about huskys never had one on the bench & hope to get some info on the following.

Can i clean them up like my old homelite, spray with super clean & hose off?

Anything i should be carefull with or watch out for while cleaning them?

Any help will he greatly appreciated.

Huskys are a little different than other brands, but I don't think you will find any issues working on them. Heck there are big differences between Huskys themselves!!

check compression first, post up what they are, do they have fuel in them?? Drain the fuel if they do. fill with fuel and try and start... If they were running when put up at most you'll need to rebuild the carb just like any other small engine...

Only difference might be intake system, choke and stop, and maybe throttle linkage. Its a chainsaw, if you know how they work you can figure it out. Oh, I almost forgot, plenty of wallered out and missing bolts....

Had a chance to work on them yesterday, got them both cleaned up, the 465 fired right up and ran like a champ, gotta say, for my first time runing a husky, it feels like a smooth running saw, the 372 fired up aswell, I think the carb needs some tuning on the Low side, gotta feather the throttle or it cuts out, didn't have time to tune it had to head to mom's for Sunday dinner, hopefully next day off I can mess with it, thanks for the info guys, I appreciate it.
