Husqvarna L77?

Talking to a local guy that I’ve done business with in the past, he bought a 257 off me a few weeks ago, and now is wanting the early model non decomp 262xp I was fixing to put up for sale. He is wanting to do a partial trade with this clean L77. Its supposed to run well, but I haven’t seen it in person yet, but will be before the trade. It’s a bit out of my wheel house, not used to dealing with what I consider collector type saws. Are these a desirable model? Just trying to figure out if it’s a good trade or not.

Zoom in, look at the tag, it’s an L77. Same saw, bigger displacement.

Well, maybe that isn’t an option, here...

I would walk away from that trade, even partial.......
Those saws mentioned are from different decades, maybe he is tired for vibrations caused by L77???
Unless you can forward the saw to a collector, L77 might be hard to part with.

Thanks, I think that’s the way I’m going, he wants the 262 regardless of the trade. He is wanting $150 for the 77, and the more I look I think I’d have a hard time recouping that.

If you want it, $150 is not much money, and seems like a pretty nice saw from the pics.

I’d keep that early 262, fewer and fewer out there and they run great.

I’m not a collector, nor do I cut enough to justify keeping a saw like that, I don’t like seeing good tools sit. I have a few oddballs I keep for my personal use, but otherwise I enjoy working on them, and getting them to people who will use them.

Nothing wrong with that, should’ve phrased to say “if you have a use for it”.

Since this subject has been brought to light again I can add that an easy way to tell the 65 from the 77 is that the sparkplug sticks up through the top shroud/cover on the 77 , on the 65 its under the shroud/cover and can`t be seen.
