I have the husky to 14mm but not the makita to 14mm. I was desperate and sawed one of homelites works of art up to get by.

Oh.

I was referring to the 14-9mm E031-D009 adaptor. So the Makita bar studs are closer together? Interesting.

I can imagine an oiling issue with an E mount bar on a D mount saw?

Of course it can be fixed by modifying the bar - but is it really worth the trouble?

It's not too much work really to make it work.

I modified a few NOS A176 mounts for use on D009 mount saws, converted a D025 for use on my Sachs 123, and a D005 for use on my Olympyk 272F. Much can be accomplished with a decent angle grinder, and a dremel.

I've clamped them down and taken them wider and longer with an end mill. It is nice to be able to go back and forth across saw brands with the same bar and an adapter.

That's all fine - but it doesn't solve any issues connected to different (outward) size mounts and their oiler holes (like an E or F tail on a D mount saw).

It surprises me that this "never" is discussed - am I wrong that it may involve more than just drilling new holes?

It's not too much work really to make it work.
I am not worried about the people that are discussing the adaptors here, but the lack of mention of it may fool more random readers of the thread.

Uncle Niko,

I understand what you are saying. However, I would hope anyone looking to convert a specific mount, for use in place of two or more specific applications would go slow, take there time, and do their due diligence i.e. Laying up of bars, taking measurements, checking alignments, etc.

How about for the Dolmar 6100?
Not as of yet. The K095 is a long ways from a D025.

Nikko, these people asked me to make the adapters, they are on their own for chain length and oiler fitment.

I will help where I can!

The D025 tail profile is huge inside a 346 etc etc type saw.

Yes, and there may be other issues than just making the slot and adjuster holes to fit and the oiling to work.

It may also vary with which K095 mount saw it is about, for all I know.
